Should college football players get paid is a very big topic in the sports world today. These athletes generate so much money to there various universities until some analysts fill they should. On the other hand some sports analyst fill as if the players are going to college for free and receive the college materials money can buy. College football players go through so much work and training to play this wonderful sports. SO some experts say the amount of work they put out deserves a paycheck. So why do they need to be played if they are already getting paid but just not directly. Teachers at the big universities can lose there jobs if they fail a good player for not doing work. So should they get paid?
Football players today are now superstars because everybody watches college football. On average a division 1 college can have about 80,000 or better to each and every game. So if they charge $20 -40 a ticket that's a lot of money coming in to that school every weekend. So where is all that money going? That money is going to rebuild the stadiums, Jerseys, equipment, and a lot of other stuff. According to Bleacher report. The big schools bring in some much money for there programs that it is crazy, because the other sports at the school other than basketball really don't bring in anything. So that makes the players even more popular because people are paying so much to see the players so other athletes jump on the boat with everybody else. These athletes are loved by there fans. When football players are very good in high school like Tim Tebow and Reggie Bush they are already local stars. So when they go to a well-known college there hometown follows them everywhere. So on Saturdays when they are getting ready to play in there big game, your whole town is at the game plus 80,000 more fans.
College football players are one step from being paid millions of dollars, should they wait on the money? A lot of players would probably tell you they would wait because knowing that you are about to get paid soon makes them play harder. If I knew that all I had to do is work hard and play hard for 3-4 years, I would be rich then I would do it. Experts use to say that they didn't want to commercialize college football but it is already there. College football is watched by everybody that knows anything about football. Even little kids sit in front of the t.v and watch college football. So i say again should they get paid? The Networks are making a fortune off theses athletes and everybody knows it. This year the National Championship game is already sold out and the season is still 3 months away. People really like to see these athletes play and will pay just about anything to see them.
If you win the Heisman Trophy that's even more money brought into the school. Its crazy the amount of money that one person can brings in from winning the Heisman.
